*BLOG TOUR* The Place We Call Home by Faith Hogan

Today it is my pleasure to bring you my review of The Place We Call Home by Faith Hogan as part of her fabulous blog tour.

Welcome to Ballycove, the home of Corrigan Mills…

Set against the backdrop of the beautiful Irish countryside the famed mills have created the finest wool in all of Ireland. Run by the seemingly perfect Corrigan family, but every family has its secrets, and how the mills came to be the Corrigan’s is one of them…

Miranda and her husband were never meant to own the mills, until one fateful day catapults them into a life they never thought they’d lead.

Ada has forever lived her life in her sister’s shadow. Wanting only to please her mother and take her place as the new leader of the mill, Ada might just have to take a look at what her heart really wants.

Callie has a flourishing international career as a top designer and a man who loves her dearly, she appears to have it all. When a secret is revealed and she’s unceremoniously turfed out of the design world, Callie might just get what’s she’s been yearning for. The chance to go home.

Simon has always wanted more. More money, more fame, more notoriety. The problem child. Simon has made more enemies than friends over the years, and when one of his latest schemes falls foul he’ll have to return to the people who always believe in him.

Ballycove isn’t just a town in the Irish countryside. It isn’t just the base of the famous mills. It’s a place to call home.

Best-selling author, Faith Hogan returns with a family tale of love, loss, secrets and finding yourself.

Miranda Corrigan is the matriarch of the Corrigan family, and an important member of the Ballycove community. Her lifes work has revolved around the Corrigan Mills, an important employer in Ballycove and international leader in wool production. She adores her three children, Ada, Callie and Simon all of whom could not be more different.

Ada, her eldest has worked at the Mills all her working life and expects to be Mirandas natural successor. However having spent her whole life focussing on the Mills, she seems to have neglected focussing on what is actually most important to her.

Callie is a top designer, famous on the London design scene. When she unexpectedly finds herself leaving London and returning to Ballycove she finds herself forced to really evaluate what makes her happy.

Simon is forever seeking more. However his schemes have finally caught up with him, and he is forced home from Dublin with his tail between his legs as he desperately tries to work out how he can fix his life.

This is a novel all about family, community and home. It’s a place to feel safe, it’s a place to heal and it’s a place where you can find yourself. Ballycove is a lovely village, tight knit and supportive. Corrigan Mills is at the centre of all that, the glue that binds not only the Corrigan family but all of the villagers as well. This is the story of a family, each with their own lives, their own secrets and their own futures to build, but they each need Ballycove and their family to help them achieve.

I am more than happy to recommend this novel, its filled with relatable characters in a beautiful setting. Its perfect for readers who are looking for a novel all about family.

Rating: 4 out of 5.
